What to expect

Consultation
Detailed evaluation, imaging review and a discussion of non-surgical options first. Surgery is recommended only when it is the best path.

Surgery day
Performed at an affiliated hospital under general anesthesia. Most patients go home the same day or the next morning.

Walking the same day, a post-op visit in our office, and most normal activities within a few weeks.
Frequently asked questions
Does the robot perform the surgery?
No. The robot has no independent movement. Your surgeon controls every instrument from a console in the operating room.
Am I a candidate?
Many women are, including those with prior surgery or a larger uterus. Candidacy depends on your condition and medical history and is decided at your consultation.
Will I go into menopause after a hysterectomy?
Not if your ovaries are kept. Removing the uterus alone stops periods but does not cause menopause.
